Scenario of the Future: World in 2034
By
the time the world reached 2034, staggering changes have taken place. There has been accelerated growth in
technological and industrial achievement for the past couple years. Developed countries
evolved even finer and developing countries have developed strongly in a short
span on time. Countries such as China and India have really picked up on the transformation
as their numbers grow. Due to the fact that they were the two most addressed
countries for future development for past years, many people accepted the
growth of population and system. China, which was developing strongly and
quickly in 2014, is now entering the well-developed stage with the approximate
population of 1.393 billion. India treads on a similar path of ever growing
city system with 1.523 billion people.
But the problem that existed in 2014 still exists in
2034 for the developing countries, such as China and India, which was the
alarming increase of air pollution. More industrial advancement meant more
energy consumption and this led to a big scale pollution crisis like never
before. Nitrogen Dioxide, Sulfur Dioxide, Carbon Monoxide, and other fine
particulate matter hikes and engulfs the cities of East China and Northern
India. Atmosphere, environment air condition, air clarity, and most
importantly, health was in jeopardy. China responded quickly as they were
tackling this problem even back in 2014 thanks to early and wide spread of environment
related propaganda and programs. The promise of cutting the use of coal by 2.6
million tonnes and investing around $290 billion dollars for cleaner air 20
years ago heavily reduced the pollution level despite the rapid growth of city
and people.
Now the problem lies with India. Despite known to have
the weakest lungs out of everyone else in the world, India’s lack of attention
and preparation turns in for the worse as of 2034. Even back in 2012,
Environmental Performance Index ranked India for the poorest air condition out
of 132 countries. Now, the buildings in urban areas are becoming more densely
packed. Rise of automobiles caused even heavier traffic congestion. Rural areas
are still in early stages of developing and this meant that people are still
using traditional methods of producing fuel mixes that spews out toxic matters
into the air.
After hitting the alarming level of
air pollution, the government finally decides to take actions. But years of
neglect and heavy use of coal and fuel mixtures have already pushed the pollution
level into a new height. It would take years and immense amount of money before
the air can be safe for people to breathe in regularly again. What the people
need now is a quick and effective solution for filtering air. Something they
can rely on until the stabilization of air quality.
Product Overview:
Over the past decade or so, many countries have had their air pollution spiked to an unbelievable range. Some countries that are very polluted are China, and India. Our team decided to choose India as our location as air pollution is very high and the Indian government and media do not act upon the major issue. Due to this ineffective act, our group has come up with a product that can filter the pollution for people that enjoys outdoor activities. The product is a flexible, malleable, reusable, portable, multipurpose filter called the Flexfilter. People in India can receive the product from the government and later purchase if more is needed to use in their daily lives wherever they go. This product can be stretched and applied on to windows, car exhaust pipes, baby strollers, and wherever customers may feel this product can be of use. This product is made with organic materials that are rich with carbon allowing it to trap pollutants in the air for filtration. Due to majority of the material being an organic mixture, it is environment friendly as well as safe for those who may have negative reaction to certain fabric/material. The main goal of the FlexFilter is to provide quick and efficient solution to air pollution for the people in India and rest of the world as well
