Group 4: 6 Scents

Our Focus:
To utilize flavours and fragrances in a way that is beneficial to our society in 20 years through technology.

We drew inspiration from "Google Nose BETA, " a prank that was set up about year ago that made some believe that they could smell googled objects by putting their face close to their screen.
We tried to make this a possibility with the addition of a portable device, that contains all the physical extracts of smells ready when a consumer wishes to smell something online.

How it works:
It acts much like how a printer does. It connects wirelessly (bluetooth) to your computer/tablet/phone and "prints" the smell. Also, it comes with cartridges than can be bought as a set, or individually depending on what sort of scent formula you are running low on. It is also charged through wi-fi, which isn't quite possible yet, but in 20 years we are assuming it will be a high possibly.

We will also need sites such as Google, Amazon, Ebay, Yahoo, etc. to create a 'smell' button for certain pages to allow our product to be fully utilized.

Useful for:
-online shoppers (perfume/fragrance items, food delivery)
-travellers (experience the environment beforehand)
-research/common knowledge (ex. knowing what expired food smells like before eating it)

There are 5 groupings of flavours and fragrances (grouped according to chemical structure):
-Esters (fruity, sweet)
-Linear Terpines (floral, woody, lemongrass)
-Cyclic Terpines (citrus, minty, woody, floral)
-Aromatic (vanilla, cinnamon, almond)
-Amines (ammonia, fish, rotting flesh)

And then we also added linalool, which is an alcohol that acts as a blender for more of the pleasant smells that are dominant in our scents package.

We decided on "6 Scents" to draw on the fact that we are introducing the use of a new sense in our online/digital activities. It is also in keeping with the six scent cartridges that our product is composed of.
