Drip Slip

Fresh, reusable water is a limited resource and the demand for it continues to grow. Many people are not aware of the water footprint that they create throughout everyday activity. If they are not informed, the freshwater will slip through our attention and become waste water. Our group has decided to create a fun and interactive board game that will inform and remind the players about water footprint around everyday life.
The name Drip Slip represents the core concept and notion of the board game. It also represents the slipping of freshwater that we cannot get back as they drip behind out consciousness.

The reason why our group chose board game as a method of teaching water conservation was because we wanted our target audience to be young children. Educating them and informing them from young age will have greater impact to their consciousness and awareness. Combined with young curiously, this will get the children to recognize the good and bad things that can happen in their own home. It is an educational program disguised as a fun game, in order to maximize the educational effect.
The board game's early development concept comes from a popular board game called Snakes and Ladders.
The entire board will be laid out with water pipes that twist and turn. They vary in color to represent different platforms that will hold the player's representative characters as they move up and down throughout the game.
The Snakes are replaced with graphic representation of water blast that comes from the pipe crack.
The concept of Ladders is replaced with occasional Splash Cards that will grant the players a chance to either move up or down the platform depending on the context.
A competitive element was added to the game as the idea of water beads is introduced. Some of the Splash Cards will tell the player to take water beads, which will have its own significance at the end of the game.
